Click here to read more...Breakers, also known as jack hammers, pneumatic drills, hammer drills, hammer breakers, and demolition breakers, are heavy duty power tools that are used to manage the toughest jobs for breaking up and into materials. There are three main types of breakers, that are all powered by electric, petrol, and pneumatic power variants.
Electric concrete breakers are powered using a motor to pump the head of the tool. Due to the electric concreate breaker configuration, they tend to be easier to handle than more heavy-duty models of breakers. This does also mean that electric breakers are more suitable for smaller jobs and projects. More heavy-duty electric breaker models will require a step-down transformer if they are to be plugged into the mains because of their voltage.
Petrol breakers have the additional benefit of being used in areas where there is no electricity, as chances are that all of the work will be conducted outside for demolition projects. Petrol breakers can be more expensive to run due to theses breakers needing fuel and also requiring further maintenance.
Pneumatic breakers are the most heavy-duty models available for hire. Pneumatic breakers work using air pressure from a separate air-compressor, that creates the bit to move up and down out of the ground. Pneumatic jack hammers are the best models to purchase if you have a large project to complete and are not nearby to use mains electricity. These types of breakers will require the purchasing or hire for a separate air compressor.
When hiring a breaker, if you are wanting a power tool that is going to complete the job efficiently and effectively, it is important to choose a model with the best percussion rate and impact energy that is suited for the job. We can provide you the specialist hire equipment tooling for any job. From a 5kg Chipping Breaker for all your light applications, to a hydraulic breaker for breaking up concrete or asphalt, we have both petrol and electric hire options for any power level available to suit your breaking projects.
