The health, safety and wellbeing of our colleagues, customers and communities has been our priority since the outbreak of the Covid-19 virus. We have closely followed the advice of our Government and have implemented appropriate actions to help prevent the spread of the virus in our branches and non-trading locations.   

Following last night’s announcement from the Prime Minister we believe the responsible approach is to suspend trading for the next three weeks in all our branches. With immediate effect all Buildbase, Hirebase and Electricbase branches will be closed for deliveries, collections and online orders. Subject to receiving clarification from Government, we aim to continue with the supply of materials through a small number of branches to support essential repair and maintenance activity. 

The situation is unpredictable and these measures have not been taken lightly.  We apologise for the inconvenience caused during this period, but we will take all measures we can to support the Government in their efforts to control the spread of this virus.

We will keep you updated on further developments and will announce when branches are ready to reopen.

Who can I contact about my account? 

In keeping with Government guidelines, we have arranged for our colleagues in key central functions to work from home, therefore our Credit Control and Purchase Ledger teams remain fully operational and can be contacted in the usual way. 

(Please note due to our remote working, when calling us you may not hear a ringing tone. Please be patient and a colleague will answer in due course.) 

As we approach the month end, we appreciate that customers will be looking to make their regular account payments and to help protect our colleagues from the risks of COVID-19, we would much prefer for all payments to be made either electronically or via the telephone. 

To this end and to assist with payments we have the following options; 

  • Our credit teams are available to take your calls from 7.30am until 5.00 pm Monday to Friday and 8am to 12 noon on a Saturday. 

  • We will be waiving all credit / business card payment fees until the end of April, so why not give us a ring and pay your account securely by card. 

  • Your regional credit office telephone number can be found on all invoices and statements 

  • Our bank details for electronic transfers are located on our payment ‘remittance advice’ area of your statement 

  • Rather than post us your remittance advice we would prefer these to be emailed to us at 

  • Register on our website at and link your trade account on the dashboard. Once we’ve checked it’s you, you will be able to view and pay invoices as well as use our suite of account management tools.
